Due to low streamflow across the Salt and Verde watersheds this year, Bartlett Lake level has remained between 55% to 40% of capacity throughout 2025 and as of mid-August 2025 is currently at elevation 1747’ (40%). SRP plans to release water from Horseshoe Dam through the spillway along the Verde River into Bartlett Lake beginning approximately at 3:00 pm Thursday, August 21 through Thursday, August 28 at the rate of approximately 1,800 cubic feet per second to move additional water downstream. Bartlett Lake will rise approximately 7 feet and Horseshoe Lake will drop about 7 feet over this period. Note that following the completion of this Horseshoe spillway release, Bartlett Lake levels are expected to gradually decline (about 1 foot per week) and could return to current levels (1747’, 40%) or lower later this fall depending on weather conditions and inflows along the Verde River into Horseshoe Lake. Please plan accordingly for lake level changes.
